I feel compelled to try to capture it's rich textures, it's perfect & imperfect lines, deep shadows and the way light dances and changes everything. Working primarily with palette knives and loads of acrylic paint, I attempt to capture that energy on canvas and draw the viewer into an experience of the places and treasures I find so irresistible." ----------------------------Terri Heinrichs

I paint with deliberate attention to shapes of space. It highlights the subject (often trees), and the light or landscape around it. Thick, luscious oil paint is intentionally laid over a contrasting background color, with hints of the gold shining through. Through the layers of my art, I’m celebrating the beautiful complexity of life. "

"With my love of art and design, I fell in love with encaustic - a blend of beeswax, damar resin and pigments. This ancient painting style was practiced by the Greeks & Romans dating back to the 5th century BC. The complexity of the medium creates a unique texture, depth, warmth, unparalleled finish, and vibrancy. My paintings are inspired by the beauty of nature, inspiring moments, magnificent skies, forests, mountains and prairies - they are peaceful and relaxing."
----------------------------"The attraction to nature and natural materials is quite evident in my work. I love studying how plants grow and how they are built, how light hits objects, and how shadows form. Combining painting and carving gives me the opportunity to explore those things in more than one dimension. By using wood as my canvas I try to bring to life the beauty of the material within an artistic composition” ----------------------------
